Additional Notifications:

The First Appointment
Plan to arrive 5 minutes early to submit the completed initial paperwork. You and your counselor will then begin an assessment of your concerns to determine a diagnosis and determine the course of action to assistance you or your love-one. By the end of the first appointment, your counselor will help you summarize your concerns and explore treatment options for resolving them.

Additional Appointments
If it is decided that the services offered are appropriate given your needs, you will be asked to setup a follow-on date to start your therapy. During the next visit with your counselor, you will establish goals for counseling and determine the approximate number of sessions you will attend. Brief individual counseling sessions are typically scheduled on a bi-weekly basis for approximately 45-50 minutes per session.  Couple counseling can be more involved depending on the issues and Severe behavioral problems with adults and kids are the most intensive services which may require weekly or bi-weekly for a longer period of time.

Canceling an Appointment
If you must miss a session due to illness or emergency, please contact the office to cancel the appointment 24 to 48 hours in advance. Services are only offered on an appointment basis. Time is reserved in our schedules whenever services are requested. We also provide optional text reminders to help attendees, if requested for these appointments. Canceling or missing appointments cause problems that go beyond a financial impact on our clinic. When an appointment is made, it takes an available time slot away from another client and missed appointments delay the delivery of health care to other clients, some who are in crisis.

No-Show Policy
You should be aware of the following policy that exists here regarding missed appointments. This policy is necessitated by our mission to serve as many individuals in need as possible and we regret any hardships this may cause.

Any individual(s) who misses two consecutive counseling appointments, without prior notification, will be unable to schedule additional appointments with clinic and will be put into a Cancellation Que.   So, when an opening from a cancellation becomes open we will contact those in this Que to see if they can make that appointment.  Note: after 3 No Shows we will have the option of discharging and referring that individual to another agency.

No-Show/Late Cancellation/Reschedule Fee Policy
We have implemented a fee policy for missed appointments. A charge of $10.00 will be assessed for each no show, or late cancellation/reschedule office visit appointment if less than 24 hours’ notice is given; after the second one. A “late cancellation/reschedule” is canceling/rescheduling an appointment without calling us 24 hours in advance.
